The Great Lakes Music Company, LLC opened in 2016 providing in-home and facility-based Music Therapy services to individuals and groups. The GLMC is proud to be an Indiana Medicaid Waiver approved provider for the Family Supports Waiver (FSW) and Community Integration Habilitation (CIH) Waiver. The GLMC specializes in treatment for individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, traumatic brain injury, physical rehabilitation, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and others. We work with clients across the lifespan for all abilities and we are dedicated to providing the highest quality services. All of The GLMC staff are Music Therapist-Board Certified (MT-BC), by the Certification Board for Music Therapists, and maintain those credentials by participating in continuing education.

The GLMC is a family owned business proudly located in Northwest Indiana.

The GLMC Team

Jordy Blitz Novak, MM, MT-BC​​​

​Jordy Blitz Novak is the founder and owner of The Great Lakes Music Company, LLC.  She has been a Board-Certified Music Therapist since February, 2012. She completed her undergraduate degree in Music Therapy in 2011 from Illinois State University. She completed her Master's of Music in Music Therapy from Western Michigan University in 2016. Jordy has been a full-time practicing Music Therapist since 2012, specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities. Jordy has over twenty years of violin playing and performing experience and has picked up other instruments along the way. She plays in a number of local bands on various instruments and enjoys advancing the profile of local music in the region. ​

Lauren Berger, MT-BC​

​Lauren has been a board-certified music therapist since 2017. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Indiana Purdue University Fort Wayne. Lauren has over 15 years of experience playing viola and has played professionally in various groups and has also been able to pick up many other instruments through her years of experience. As a native to the region, Lauren is excited to return to NWI and work as a part of the GLMC team!

Zach Kritzer, MM, MT-BC

Zach Kritzer is a Board-Certified Music Therapist. He completed his Masters degree of Music in Music Therapy from Colorado State University. Zach also holds a Bachelors in guitar performance from Columbia College Chicago.  Zach has over 15 years of professional guitar performance experience as well as extensive piano and vocal skills. He was very happy to be moving back to the greater Chicagoland area and start serving our clients and families. The GLMC is honored to have Zach on our team!

Justina Abah, MA, MT-BC​

Justina earned her Master of Arts in Music Therapy from Immaculata University. She has been a Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) since January 2018. Justina is a very talented musician with her primary instruments being voice and guitar. She brings to our team her experience in hospice care and special education. We are honored to have her on our team and excited for the lives she is going to touch.

Julie Mazzola, MT-BC

Julie is a Board-Certified Music Therapist who earned her degree from Indiana Wesleyan University where her primary instrument was piano. She completed her internship at Opportunities for Positive Growth, Inc. in Fishers, IN working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through the Indiana Medicaid Waiver. Julie is originally from the Detroit, MI area but is very excited to be in the Chicagoland area now and be a part of The GLMC team. 

Airen-Celeste Harris, MT-BC

Airen-Celeste Harris has been a Board-Certified Music Therapist since 2016. She completed her degree in Music Therapy in  from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.  She also has 14 years of experience in research and project management with community based programs. She plans to become an affiliate of The Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy.  Airen-Celeste currently performs in community choirs and leads youth drum circles. Airen is a vocalist, with over 20 years of training and performing experience. She also has over 5 years of experience with guitar training and performing.

Andrew Novak, Administrator​

Andrew Novak is the office administrator of The Great Lakes Music Company, LLC. He is a classically trained musician and studied music at Illinois State University. Andrew is a percussionist with over 15 years of playing and performing experience and is a longtime member of the Percussive Arts Society. ​
